Peoples Bank
Pass Christian, MS
Our firm provided full architectural services for thie new financial institution in Pass Christian after the original facility was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The program for the building consisted of a new branch bank facility on the first floor and leasable office space on the second floor. The style of the building borrows characteristics from the Garden District in New Orleans and mixes them with elements from the Gulf Coast's historic buildings in an effort to rebuild some of what was lost. The building is stucco with floor-to-ceiling windows equipped with functional hurricane shutters and was one of the first to rebuild in Pass Christian under the new International Building Code 2003. It was designed to withstand 140 mph winds.
