NEW COMMISSIONS

Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum – We are serving as FEMA Program Manager for the City of Biloxi for this new 15,000 SF seafood museum including galleries, administrative offices and meeting rooms. This project also includes two 5,000 SF Katrina and Mardi Gras museums.

Interior Designer receives certification – Lindsey Anderson, ASID, LEED AP recently completed qualifications with the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications and is now a certified interior designer.

LEED-Accredited Employees – Our firm has had employees recently receive LEED certification. These employees include: Julie Markle, LEED AP, Lindsey Anderson, ASID, LEED AP, Stephanie Boyles, LEED AP, Ross Barkley, LEED AP, Leigh Jaunsen, AIA, LEED AP and Edwin Daniel, AIA, LEED AP. Also certified are Ron Hartley, ASLA, LEED AP and Russ Blount, AIA, LEED AP.

City of Biloxi projects – We have been awarded several projects with the city of Biloxi including the Biloxi Community Center, Lighthouse Restoration, Lighthouse Park and Visitor's Center and the Biloxi Civic Center.

Capital CIty Mixed-Use Development, Jackson, MS – Our firm is helping revitalize our state's capital city with this mixed-use development designed to complement the new Jackson Convention Complex.

University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS – We are providing services for several projects at UMC including the Pediatric and Adult Emergency Department renovations.

Cache Creek, Brooks, CA – We were selected to provide design services for this casino resort's expansion.

Lee Hall, Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS – Our firm was awarded preplanning services for this historic classroom building.

Peeples Middle School, Jackson, MS – Our firm was selected to provide full architectural services for this new middle school to replace the existing middle school within the Jackson Public School District in Jackson, MS.

Bon Secour Village, Gulf Shores, AL – DAA has recently participated in a design charrette with Andres Duany of Duany Plater-Zyberk & Co. for the development of a "new urbanism" living and working village featuring a compact, walkable resort town. This project is located on a 1,000-acre site on the Intracoastal Canal in Gulf Shores, AL. Our clients are local Mississippi native, Clint Guthrie of Guthrie Development in Birmingham, AL, Rick Skelton with Skelton Properties in Atlanta, GA, and Midnight Properties in Cullman, AL.

New Residence Halls, Mississippi Valley State University, Itta Bena, MS – Our firm was selected to provide design services for two new residence halls totaling 30,000 SF each. Each building will have 75 rooms on three floors.

Governor Haley Barbour's Commission on Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal, Biloxi, MS – Our firm had representation at the Mississippi Rebuilding and Renewal Forum from October 12-17, 2005 in Biloxi, Miss. The group of over 500, including world-renowned designers, architects, planners, landscape architects, code specialists, engineers and others, met over the 10-day period to plan the rebuilding of 11 cities along Mississippi's Gulf Coast stretching over 120 miles. Doug Dale, AIA, and Ron Hartley, ASLA, worked on the city of Biloxi team, and Jeff Barnes, AIA, served on the city of Bay St. Louis team. Jeff and Ron both earned membership into the Congress for the New Urbanism for their service during the forum.
